Biography:
Ian joined the NHS some 25 years ago when health informatics was in its infancy and he has worked in various organisations covering almost every area of health delivery. His primary job role within these organisations has continued to be focused on the strategic management of information systems and IT, specialising on portfolio, programme and project.
Ian is currently employed by the Sheffield Teaching Hospitals Foundation Trust as an Assistant Informatics Director and he is managing various strategic informatics projects and programmes for the Trust.
As well as a member of the UKCHIP Council, he is a well-known champion of health informatics. He was a founder member of ASSIST (the association for informatics professionals in health and social care) in the early 1990's and until recently was a long standing member of the ASSIST National Council - having twice been Vice-Chair of the association. Ian is also a committed member of the Yorkshire ASSIST Branch Committee.
